Sometimes I find myself completely unaware of being detached from the special things in my life. Likewise, it’s easy to take some of life’s very simple blessings for granted.
I just opened a new category, “I am Thankful” today because I wanted a place where I, or anyone who visits my blog, can write a quick note about something for which they are thankful.
I am thankful for my best friend Chris & glad I live right next door. I don’t tell you enough how much you mean to me. You are my rock and your friendship has been a solid force in my life for over 20 years. After all, I raised you from a pup! Love, Roseanna
Great friends. I spent the weekend with a handful of super friends, some of whom I rarely get to spend time with. I am glad the world is about relationships.
I am thankdul for friends who don’t mind that you don’t call them back right away. And when you do, it is as if no time had passed since you last spoke to them.
I am thankful for a wonderful son who cares deeply about everyone and everything. He is such a special person in so many ways. And besides that, he is so much fun to be around.
Also, I am thankful that the real estate profession has no mandatory retirement age for those of us who are still out there listing and selling real estate. We’re not getting older, just getting better and wiser!!!
I am thankful there are no video poker machines around here or I’d be in trouble.
I am thankful for the Easter season to remind us of how much Jesus loves us.
I am thankful He blesses us with good friends like you, Chris.
I am especially thankful for my precious family.
I am thankful for family, friends, and employees. It’s funny how the line betwen those gets blurred sometimes. Thanks Chris for the awesome dinner. Thanks Roseanna for the cool antique books; you really know how to pick just the right thing. Thanks Cindy for reminding me that there are books to be read (and not enough years left to read them all.) Thanks Mindy and Lexi for always thinking of kindnesses that make life here easier. Thanks Donald for being the kind of employee that makes us REALLY miss you when you’re gone. Thanks Mother for the ham, gloves, and for allowing me to know that you’re always there if I need you. Thanks Brenda for taking care of Mama when the rest of us don’t (notice I said ”don’t”, not ”can’t.” ) Thanks Dad for enriching our lives every day. Thanks Sugar for being such a wonderful mother-in-law, and for the awesome peacock purse. Thanks Alyssa for coming home for Easter dinner and for calling me every day; don’t ever quit either of those. And now that I’ve written a novel on Chris’ blog, thanks Gary for sharing life; it’s a bumpy ride sometimes and I am always thankful that you’re here to hang onto.
I am thankful for being able to retire early enough so that I can explore the world and spend time with good friends & family. Sometimes your friends are your family & that is a double blessing. Of course I like Chris’ description. I am not retired. I just ‘resumed’ my life. It’s all good.
We are thankful for our familes who we truely love, one and all – we are thankful for our many friends we have known for years and the ones we have met on our motorhomeing travels – we are thankful for our health and our full-time motorhomeing lifestyle…….
I’m thankful that the tornado missed us by three blocks and I was able to get home in time to get my son, his friend and our pets under the futon matress.
For Blackberry service. When I woke up this morning and mine was down (along with millions of my other Blackberry friends) I had a hard time getting my day kick-started.
I am thankful for my husband, Don. He works his shifts and then comes home and takes care of me and our house. I am handicapped (need a knee replacement & spinal surgery) and have found out who my friends really are. Thank you Roseanna for being my friend since grade school! Lately I have been living vicariously through you and your travels. And thanks Chris, for keeping us all updated on your travels.
I am thankful I found your wonderful website and blog. I am thankful that I was able to retire after 30 years in education and begin my real estate career. I am thankful for the “slow days” in real estate.
For firefighters, and not just because of the obvious dedication they have as first responders. This weekend, the volunteer firefighters in Whitney were out in force at the town’s two red lights, collecting for MDA and Jerry’s Kids. It made me feel so good to drive through and contribute to their “fill the boot” effort that I came back the other direction on my way home so I could throw another couple of bucks in.
I am thankful that I had the opportunity to spend a little time this weekend with my Dad and Pat and wish them safe travels before they leave the area for the season. They are snowbirds, so its time for them to head north.
For my wireless BlackBerry. I am trying this entry on the phone to see if it works! I want to be able to submit remotely because sometimes I am thankful for something and then by the time I get to a computer, I forget what it was.
For another grandchild. It’s somehow odd to see your children become parents, and begin to mirror your parenting skills. You talk about getting a grade card!!
I am thankful I raised my children in church, and although they have not always made the best (or right) choices, they knew where to turn for unconditional love when even I couldn’t ease the emotional hurts that come with growing up.
Today I am thankful for Dennis. He is not only a great coworker, but a good friend as well. His brains, instinct, and support makes my job easier and a whole lot more fun.
I am thankful for Beacon. She is truly through and through a genuine sweetie. She’s not complicated, every day she’s just the same. She’s so appreciative of just a lap to sit in and an episode of
“Gunsmoke” to watch.
Sheryl. Its always a paradox when a loyal employee moves on to bigger opportunities. On one hand, I am very proud when someone under my leadership grows to the point they are ready for new and fresh challenges. On the other hand, I hate losing good people. In Sheryl’s case, she is moving just down the hall, so she will still be close! I give thanks for her contributions in the past and her willingness to help transition her replacement. Good luck, Sheryl.
I am thankful for Gary and Mel at Arrowhead for their friendship and for taking such great care of my place in Whitney and for being incredible friends to me.
…my life: it was given to me some 35 years ago, and I think I’m just now settling into accepting I was given all I could need to navigate through from where I am to where I am going
…my wife: some 14 years ago we sat next to each other in a college class and “the rest is history”
…my family: through ups, downs and “sideways” we continue to find out new things and navigate our time together
…my friends: the core group of people who are there, I mean RIGHT there whenever I could need
…my job: co-created with spirit in a way that’s providing a lifestyle of joy, grace, ease and contribution
…my education: insatiable curiosity has gotten me this far, and I know there is more to come!
I am thankful for Chris who created this energizing category of thought. He is leading us to a daily “Attitude of Gratitude”. When I feel the “Attitude”, self-pity evaporates .. creativity, problem solving and good-will rush in. What a neat impact on our world! Live the Attitude and “Play It Forward”.
I am thankful that, in her retirement, Roseanna is able to travel to South Dakota for the entire month of June to spend time with her family. Hopefully when I retire in 2037, she will take me with her.
I am thankful for my next door neighbors & friends Lee & Chris. They keep an eye on me, feed me, and make sure I don’t get too full of myself. Oh yeah, and Chris isn’t going to retire in 2037 as he will need the $ to visit me in the Senior Living Facility.
I am thankful to have survived several buy-outs and office closings and still have a job I love with the same company (only better) 13 years later. I am also thankful for Chris for believing in me and making me a part of the Marketing family. I am thankful for my marketing co-workers. Most of all I am thankful for my three beautiful and wonderful sons.
I am thankful for my dedicated team of employees, and well as my supportive and understanding boss, Sue – - all for being so patient with me while I have had to be away from the office to be with my Granny in Minnesota. Grandparents are special, and the only one I have left is my Granny. We are quite close, and I know that my being here has already given her a boost and desire to get better.
I am thankful for the caring and professional doctors and nurses in Minneapolis who are tending to my mom. They are so special to do the job they do…..
I am thankful for Chris and his caring for his Granny. He understands what the doctors are saying and the medications they are giving her now. He was able to get paperwork, POA’s, and legal things done with her complete cooperation. Then he tended to her, cooked for her, and really had a lot to do with her getting better. She told me surely he is an angel.
Having a tough time thinking of something today, but
I am thankful for the few people out there who don’t allow themselves to fall into the media’s trap of overblown disaster stories and seek to find out the REAL situation for themselves. And I am thankful for Chris who is always there to lend a word of encouragement or a plate of comfort food when anyone in his extended family needs it.
Gary and Mel. Thank you for taking such good care of me and my lake home. There is no way I could tend to the maintenance that needs to be done by myself. My Arrowhead lake place is my second home and one I need for refuge – when I need my sanity. You make it so easy for me to come down, and if I was having to tend to things like a leak of the fridge, there is just no way I could do it from here. You are special friends – - heck, you are family and I love you both very much. Thank you!
Being able to get away on the Alaska trip. That you Roseanna for making it possible, and thank you to all of the folks in Alaska who treated us so well – you know who you are because I gave you cards so you might make your way to this website.
Thankful for those that take a chance on you-and never give up; for those that make themselves available anytime, anywhere; for those who have just a bit of the Peter Pan syndrome!
I am thankful that friendships survive the miles. I would never have made it through this move without the love and support of my friends and family not just in Texas, but all over the country. It is amazing to me that technology – phones, text messages, blogs, websites – seems to minimize the distance. Although I am 1700 miles away from my home away from home, Arrowhead Resort in Whitney, TX, when I talk to Gary and Mel almost every day or at least several times a week, it seems they are still just down the road a piece. Although I haven’t seen Roseanna since October of last year, it seems as if we were just together on Mount Rushmore when we talk on the phone. Granny has always been a long distance supporter – now she is just west of me instead of North of me. Clark in Florida seems like he is still in the office next to mine after we talk on the phone and catch up. I am blessed to have the friends I have – from sea to shining sea. Special people and special relationships survive the test of time and distance, and I am thankful for that.
I am thankful for the realization that every minute of every day is a blessing. There is no reason nor is there any room for blame, self-doubt, or regret. I am thankful for all that I have, all that I am, and all that I will be. I am thankful for everyone I love, and those who love me.
I am thankful that my old house in Mansfield finally SOLD! And, it sold to the same lady who fell in love with it the first time, but the deal fell through then. I am so glad that she got the home she wanted after all.
It is pouring down rain outside and there is a power outage in town. Listening to the police scanner I hear all of the area volunteer fire department folks responding to the powerlines that are down across River Road in Flanders.
Surprisingly, especially because of the amazing high taxes here in New Jersey, most towns and even medium cities are serviced by volunteer EMT and firefighters. While this was something I was familiar with in Texas at Lake Whitney, this area is far more populated than rural Hill County, Texas.
So I give thanks and appreciation to the volunteer firefighters and EMS workers in the Washington Township/Hackettstown/Mount Olive/Schooley’s Mountain area of Northern New Jersey.
I’m thankful for this Thanksgiving Day, and that there will be a tomorrow and more days after that with people I love.
I am thankful that people of the world are very different, but ultimately care about many of the same things that I do. I’m thankful to live in a country that, though it isn’t perfect, is full of people that want to make it better, even if we don’t always agree on how to do it.
I’m thankful that we have freedom to speak up (or not), and for soldiers who are willing to stand in front of everyone else to protect it.
I’m grateful that the lights come on when I flip a switch, that I have enough to eat and a place to call home, that I have a good job with health insurance and enough money to pay most of the bills, and that hot water comes out of the shower head every morning. I’m thankful for the luxuries I enjoy such as a PC, a laptop, a cell phone, the internet, television, electricity, heat and air conditioning, and to be able to ride in and drive a motorized vehicle.
I’m thankful that I can walk safely down the street without worrying about sniper fire or land mines, that the fire department will come if I need them, that there are grocery stores with food, public schools, highways, trains, phone lines, blankets and space heaters.
And most of all, I am thankful for my family, and my friends, and their happiness and health. I miss my friends from back home (you know who you are!!!) and I am thankful for the time I had with them. I am also thankful for the people I’m still going to meet someday.
In a time of such uncertainty and strife, God has richly blessed me.
I am thankful for being alive another day to enjoy what ever life brings me.
I am thankful for my partner of almost 12 years…I
am thankful for my job. 25 years of teaching REALTORS® how to use their computers and MLS programs.
I am thankful that my daughter moved to Manhatten so I can come visit her one of my fav cities. NY!
Sometimes I find myself completely unaware of being detached from the special things in my life. Likewise, it’s easy to take some of life’s very simple blessings for granted.

I am thankful for…

I am thankful for Chris calling me afterwards with the play by play!
I had a great week, spending it with a whole bunch of special folks…so as I look back on it, I am thankful for the people I work with every day.
Its been a while since I said I was thankful for anything – - need ot do a better job at keeping up with that.
I am thankful for Tony Romo. Looks like the ‘Boys may make it all the way this year!
I am thankful for the TV clicker – - – so I can turn off the talking heads when they stay somehting stupid.
Thankful for those that take a chance on you-and never give up; for those that make themselves available anytime, anywhere; for those who have just a bit of the Peter Pan syndrome!
I am thankful to have the opportunity to improve myself.
I am thankful that the big move is almost over!
I am thankful that friendships survive the miles. I would never have made it through this move without the love and support of my friends and family not just in Texas, but all over the country. I am thankful for my best friend, you. No miles can ever keep us apart. Roseanna
I am thankful that I have friends who look out after me no matter how far away I am.

I am thankful that my son-in-law is (still) safe in Iraq and headed home for some R&R in time to spend Thanksgiving with his wife and sons.
God bless him and his family for their courage and his willingness to do what so many others can (or will) not.
God speed, Sgt. Russell Bradford……come home safely. See you soon.
I AM THANKFUL THAT CHRIS FOUND ME & WE HAVE CONNECTED AGAIN!
I am thankful for not having to shovel snow again today

NY!
I am thankful for all of the people who have showed so much love over the last several days. Its been an incredible help.
