People On My Mind
Life is really about our relationships with other people.
This “People On My Mind” tab is a new special blog section I have created especially for those occassions when I want to comment about someone who is on my mind.
You are welcome to do the same. If there is someone on your mind, it doesn’t matter who, why not blog a few words about that person here?
Alyssa is on my mind tonight. She is going to college in Stephenville, and it seems that every storm seems to start in Stephenville for some reason. So, Alyssa, you take cover down there and check in now and then.
Kristine is on my mind! I hope your run goes great this weekend.
Jason moved his family into their new home a few weeks ago and I was just thinking that I had not heard from him. A new house is always exciting and there are plenty of things to keep you busy, so here is a shout out to Jason – hope you are doing well, my friend.
Charlotte is under the weather and she is on my mind this afternoon. She is in the hospital undergoing tests. Help me send good vibes her way.
My grandmother Bea is on my mind today. I need to find time to call her and I always feel guilty for not spending more time talking to her. I have got to remember to tell her that the legislature passed a bill renaming part of a highway somewhere the Pickle Parkway in honor of my grandfather’s cousin and former State Senator Jake Pickle. It’s a proud week to be a Pickle.
My Mom is on my mind. Waiting to hear Wednesday how her medical tests went.
I am thinking about two people today. Clark is about to walk into the biggest challenge of his career. I will miss him. And Sue, who has worked hard and paid her dues, and will be great to work for. Change is always unsettling, but it isn’t a bad thing.
I have two friends right now that are battling cancer. Both are co-workers, and both are very special ladies. Charlotte and Sharon are both fighting to overcome this dreadful disease, and they are doing so surrounded by the love and prayers of a whole lot of people. They are both weighing heavily on my mind tonight, as well as in my prayers.
I am thinking about my Granny tonight. Her birthday is next week on June 4, and normally I publish a birthday page for such occassions but since I can’t get her to get online, I am having to mail her by snailmail. She lives in Minnesota which is a challenge for me, but she likes it there.
My grandmother is on my mind today. She is not well and, as tough of an old bird as she is, I am very worried about her. I’m flying to Minnesota today to be with her.
Chris’ Granny is on my mind today. My own Granny had a massive heart attack and stroke a few years ago but THANKFULLY is still alive and kicking my grandfather’s butt every chance she gets. I think it’s the spunk in all of us that keeps us going strong. I’ve got your Granny in my prayers, Chris! I’ll tell my Granny about her.
ALyssa is on my mind because she has done so well at her state competition this week. She is a great kid except she isn’t a kid anymore.
Sharon Nicholson is on my mind today. If you have followed my blog you know that Sharon is a co worker who has been struggling with cancer. She lost her battle this week and I am very sad that I cannot be in Dallas to go to her services. Sharon was a gentle, sweet person, and I am so sadded by her passing. Though I am thousands of miles away right now, Sharon, you are on my mind.
Roseanna has the flu and is up in South Dakota where I can’t tend to her, so she is on my mind today. Get well soon!
Chris: Thank you & appreciate the chicken soup offer but I think it would have been cold by the the time you got it up here 1000 miles north.
Feeling a little more human today.
My friend, Charlotte, died last night. Charlotte has been bravely fighting cancer since May of last year when I first mentioned her on this blog. She has been determined and focused on her battle, and never lost her sense of hope and humor. In the end, it was more than her body could take. Godspeed, Charlotte.
Chris:
Hey, big guy, I had no idea you were moving all the way to the Big J !! Have you bought stock yet in the airlines so you can make it back to Lake Whitney via Dallas or considered a 4-seater to fly (you, your Mom and Beacon) on a regular basis?!
I wish you the very best of everything in your new job, house-hunting, and researching/enjoying the new location and surrounding areas. Hope you can come back to Gary & Mel’s for Thanksgiving.
Loved your traveloblog. One tip: buy big snowshoes.
Take care.
The nice thing about having friends like you is that words are not always necessary. Somehow Chris, you just know…
Hope the folks in NJ are good to you, because if not, there’re a lot of folks in Texas that would love to open up a can of whoop a** on ‘em (and you know what they say: EVERYTHING – even that – is bigger in Texas!)
Come home often……
My dad is on my mind today. Tomorrow is his birthday. It’s difficult to desribe our relationship. It was once too easy to focus on regreats and misunderstandings, but time has a way of forcing one past that type of thing. My dad has never wanted anything but the best for me and I understand that.
I hope you have a terrific birthday Dad.
Jeremy has been on my mind all day today.
Gary and Mel are on my mind today, mostly because I wish I was at Arrowhead this weekend. It feels strange not being at my home away from home. I know though, that while my visits to Arrowhead will obviously be less frequent, they will be just as special when they do happen. I am hoping that on the future weekends when I am able to fly down, Gary and Mel can do airport duty for me at Waco.
Lee, your Mom, is on my mind today….I do miss her so much! My wish for her is to find a friend she can enjoy, talk to and realte to, like the friendship she and I share. I hope she finds a friend who will be as good a friend to her and she has been to me. Truly good friends don’t come along often and she has been a treasure to me. Texas will not be the same without her!
Give those other drivers hell, Lee!!
Jane, you are a sweetheart, and you are on my mind too. Anytime you want to come out and visit, you know you have a bedroom here.
You are on my mind Chris, as I washed you black tshirt, which I wear as a nightie. It is one of my favorite things, and everytime I look at it I think about how I swiped it when I was at Arrowhead. Oh, was I supposed to return that? LOL
Chris, I have gotten so much enjoyment out of your web site. The New York pictures just hit home. D’Ann and I went in April. And I really didn’t realize you were so close to us at the time. We were standing in that building that overlooks the 911 sight and on the other side of the building you look out to New Jersey. Guess my Geography just didn’t kick in. Saw so many of those sights that you had pictures of. Miss you guys a lot. Your home is beeuutiful and the area is wonderful. You have lots of good memories ahead of you. Enjoy it all.
Thanks Margarita. You are on my mind because yoru post on the Hackettstown blog regarding Mexican food has got a whole lot of attention! I am enjoying it!
Maureen is on my mind today as she prepares to go in for surgery on Monday.
Granny was planning to go see her sister last summer in Phoenix and it didnt work out for a variety of reasons. He niece, Tinka,, is repurposing the plane ticket – so long story short, Granny will be catching up with Roseanna while Roseanna is connecting in Minneapolis on November 15, and both of them will be coming for a visit. Granny will be staying a week, Roseanna for 3 weeks. So,, in looking forward to seeing them, both Granny and Roseanna are on my mind today.
Tony is on my mind today. He has a houseful of siblings and neices and nephews. Spending the weekend with the ones you love is true gift and somehow it puts everything into prespective.
Chris, you are on my mind today. No matter where we are in the world, you will always be my best friend and I miss you so much. Thanks goodness for your site, email, and cell phones. I love to hear from you when you are stuck in traffic and I am sitting there in my living room gazing out over the open prairie a gorgeous sunset. The sunflowers are all gone now though. darn it. You are in my thoughts EVERY day & I miss you and can’t wait to hang with you and Lee.
Well of course Chris is on my mind. Who else but Chris would bring me to NJ & invite me to stay for 2 weeks in his home. We usually both agree that visitors are a lot like dirty laundry, they both start to stink after 3 days. And here it is day 4. Yikes! I better pack just in case.
Tony is on my mind right now. He lost his Noni (Grandma) today. Grandmothers are so special.
